What are Dermal Fillers
Our dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring molecule found in your body that helps retain moisture and maintain skin structure.

As we age, levels of hyaluronic acid decline, which can lead to volume loss, sagging, and the formation of lines and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are used to restore a more youthful facial shape, replace lost volume, provide structural support, and smooth out deep lines such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

Treatment is quick, with immediate visible results and little to no downtime, and most patients return to normal activities the same day.
Our clinicians’ background in Plastic Surgery gives them a deep understanding of facial anatomy and ageing. Dermal fillers restore volume, support structure, and enhance natural contours, focusing on facial balance and proportions rather than just softening lines.
What can you treat with Botox?
We commonly use Botox to improve frown lines, wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet). We can also use Botox to treat other areas such as the corner of the mouth, smokers’ lines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), teeth grinding, ‘gummy smiles’, and chin dimpling, as well as many other areas.
How should I prepare for my dermal filler treatment?

The Oxley will work with you to maximise the effects of any treatment. The following considerations should be made:

  • Consultation: Make sure to have a detailed consultation with your qualified healthcare provider. Share any relevant medical history, including allergies, medications, and any previous cosmetic treatments.
  • Avoid Certain Medications: Unless prescribed, avoid taking blood thinners (like aspirin or ibuprofen) to reduce the risk of bruising. Your doctor may also advise stopping certain supplements, such as Vitamin E or fish oil. Please make your clinician aware of this pre-procedure.
  • No Facial Treatments: Avoid facials, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion 1-2 weeks before your Botox treatment to ensure your skin is in the best condition.
  • Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from drinking alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment, as it can increase the risk of bruising.
  • Arrive with Clean Skin: Make sure your face is clean and free of makeup or other products when you arrive for your Botox appointment

What should I do after my filler treatment?

Although the downtime of injections is minimal, we recommend the following advice:

  • Stay Upright: For at least 4 hours after the procedure, avoid lying down to help prevent the filler from shifting.
  • Avoid Touching or Massaging the Treated Areas: Don’t rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours to prevent the filler from moving.
  • Exercise: Wait 24 hours before engaging in strenuous exercise or activities that might cause excessive sweating.
  • Avoid Heat: Avoid hot tubs, saunas, or direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours to reduce the risk of irritation or increased swelling.
  • Bruising and Swelling: Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site is common and typically resolves in a few days.
  • Results are often visible immediately after treatment, though some swelling may occur, which will subside within a few days.

When will I see results?

typically immediate but allow 3 days – 2 weeks for swelling to go down.

Do dermal fillers hurt?

Most patients report only a mild discomfort during the procedure. Numbing cream can sometimes be used prior to injection. Many fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing agent, to minimise discomfort afterwards.

How soon will I see results from dermal fillers?

Results are often visible immediately after treatment, though some swelling may occur, which will subside within a few days. Final results are typically seen at 3 days – 2 weeks.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The effects typically last between 6 to 18 months, depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual factors like skin type and lifestyle.

Can I get multiple treatments at once?

Yes. It is not uncommon for our experienced clinicians to recommend a comprehensive multi-treatment approach. The consultation will create a bespoke plan tailored to your needs.
